Our stake does a live nativity every other year in the park right behind our house. This year about 18,000 people visited over 4 nights! I couldn't believe it. The last night they didn't finish until 11:00. I am amazed at the amount of time it takes to put this on. I thought the nativity display in Ohio was a lot, but this is CRAZY! They have made it so beautiful, though. They have sheep, a donkey with riding Mary and Joseph, shepherds, goats, cows, even a camel! Then you walk into the pavilion that has been made over into a maze of carpenters, vendors of different types, basket weavers, etc. Inn Keepers that say the only words spoken in the maze "There is no room." Then you turn the corner and there is a baby and couple playing Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. I walked through it a couple times and was always taken back by the sweet spirit of each family looking at their child imagining what it would be like to have gone through that experience of bringing a baby into this world and knowing it to be the Savior.
Our family were street merchants and were happy to be a little part of the event.
