It is that time!!!
The same week I wrote the MS Walk page for our team, Wilkey Walking Warriors, I had a bad exacerbation. It affected my speech and my balance. It was definitely manageable, but I really thought I was doing well. A new lesion in my cerebrum confirmed that I need to start a new medication.
Figuring it all out has been stressful at best, but I am grateful for my blessings, especially my family! Friends have rallied around me and family members have made life possible.
Ryan was confused about what was happening. I didn't realize he doesn't remember my last episode. He was really cute as he asked me what was really happening. He kind of treated me differently that day and came home from school to see if my right side was"working" yet. The last time we did the MS Walk, Cara and Shawn really gained an understanding of being on a team together and how much support is out there to help all of us. Also, that we want to keep Mom moving when others have not been so fortunate. I hope Ryan gets that same lesson this time.
Please come support us in our team next week and help us beat this awful disease!

Un-edit
I just logged on to edit my typos from last time I blogged. I couldn't bring myself to do it. Looks like that was the first sign of my MS episode, flare-up, attack, whatever it is called. I can't think of the politically correct "e" word for demyelination!
It was Thursday night as we read the scriptures with the kids that I finally realized what was going on with the speaking difficulty, out of balance feeling and right side definitely not responding as fast as normal. Again I felt stupid, deflated and bad! When will this stop- never! When will I accept it- never! After 18 months of feeling great! and a year of really trying to eat right and be grateful for the body I have! Still this. Oh well, life goes on and I keep on fighting. After a week and half I am feeling good. Still not 100% better, but glad for what I have. Especially a husband that cares and really bares the brunt of this nasty MS life!
