Zion Narrows-Plan B!

For my brother Jon's 40th birthday he scheduled to hike the full Narrows hike in Zion National park on his wife, Adrienne's birthday:)  He got a permit for 12 people months in advance.  Then he set everyone on a preparation regime including exercise, hikes, carrying weight, etc.
Grandpa, 70 really wanted to come a long and hiked and walked to get in shape.  Everyone bought the appropriate gear for a river hike.  Then.....
It was rainy and forecast for some more, which equals a flash flood warning.  So, these kiddos took a different hike to Kolob arch.
When water was near at Laverkin Creek, they HAD to jump in!
Grandpa was more than thrilled that this was his adventure! We all think it was fortunate that he was able to participate and NOT have to deal with the slippery rocks and force of water on your ankles at his young age!
Adrienne joined in the adventures with the tad poles and toads!!
There was a natural water slide that Randy is so skillfully maneuvering here.
 Benjamin caught some air!!
My bro! Who is now 40.  I think I am feeling old and him being my next oldest sibling really makes me question who did the math, because I AM NOT JUST 2 YEARS YOUNGER THAN 40!!!
